Bill Clinton apologized for staining his reputation, among other things. David Letterman asked for forgiveness due to allegations of dipping his pen in the company ink. Tiger Woods said he was sorry for swinging his nine iron both on and off the golf course. These men made mistakes, but they owned up to their actions. They faced the proverbial music.
Carmelo Anthony shot a woeful 2-12 in 37 minutes of action, scoring only 6 points in Friday night's 99-95 loss to the Pistons. His performance on the court was mirrored by his actions after the game when Anthony boycotted answering questions from the media and stormed out of the locker room. Anthony sat inside of the team bus wearing his sunglasses all by his lonesome.
Even though Anthony's stats had as much success as Kim Kardashian's new 'hit' single, it is inexcusable to skip out answering tough questions. In just 14 games, the man who said he would embrace the big bad New York media is now more emo than the kid from Wedding Crashers.A few weeks ago, it was reported that Anthony was laughing at a few Miami Heat players for crying after a loss. Judging Melo's behavior after this game, the team's 7-7 record after the big trade, and the continuing dilemma of being the worst defensive team in the NBA, it seems that the Knicks first round playoff opponent will have the last laugh and
eventually sending all Knicks fans to tears.
For walking out of a locker room and avoiding the media after scoring only 6 points against the non-playoff bound Pistons, all Knicks fans said to Melo multiple times on Friday night...
"WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING BROTHER?!"
